Hello everyone,

This week we have been unpacking our new Unit “From Field to Table……Food can go through many processes and journeys to reach our table.” We listened to a story about journeys and investigated the journey many of our food goes on. We started to ask so many questions and can’t wait to start finding answers. Who knew that tea could be grown in Sri Lanka, mixed and packed in Poland, sold in London and then exported to Oman?

In Language we have been reflective, looking backwards  so we can move forwards. Students have been assessing their narrative writing themselves, in conference with the teachers, celebrating their successes and targeting goals for their future writing.

On the 21st February we celebrated World Mother Tongue day by writing poems in all the languages we speak – we are so lucky to have such skilled language learners!

In Mathematics we have been starting our inquiry into measure, converting mm, cms, metres and km and investigating the lengths and proportions of our body inspired by the work of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Enjoy the break and we’ll see all students back on Monday 8th March as Sunday is a teacher professional development day.
