Hi everyone

What a wonderful week we have had celebrating Oman.  We had an interesting visit from Mr Ahmed, an Omani weaver, who shared his skills with us and we made small woven mats.

We have made clay tiles, Islamic patterns and tessellations, Pop Art and stencils of iconic images of Oman. Designing Omani doors and henna patterns. We listen to stories and played games. We came together as a group to work in Arabic with Ms Sahar and Mr Aamer.

We set ourselves a goal with the sponsored walkathon to walk to the Moon, using a scale of 1 lap = 2000kms. The distance to the Moon is 384,400 km. We reached that goal by Tuesday and so redrafted our goal to walk to the Moon and back! (768,800 km or 385 laps). A fabulous achievement – well done everyone.

We ended the week with a gallery walk viewing all of our week’s work wearing Omani clothes or colours and sipping lemonade!

Enjoy the weekend
