Our class have been preparing for the walkathon in Oman Week by walking or running around the track for about 12 minutes each morning. We created a table to record the number of laps we completed individually and collectively. Knowing that 1 lap of the track is 400 metres we investigated how many metres our class travelled each day.

The number was in the thousands so we learned to convert the distance in metres into kilometres.

As the week progressed all of us managed to increase the number of laps we completed and some people really pushed themselves. After a magnificent effort on Thursday the class exceeded the previous days records.

After challenging our bodies, it was time to challenge our brains to work out how many metres and kilometres we had travelled over the 5 days. Once again we worked together and found easy ways to solve some maths problems that we initially thought were beyond us.

By travelling 78 km we realised that together we almost reached Mussanah! What an achievement! ? Together Everyone Achieves More….What a TEAM.

During the week as part of our inquiry into Ancient Greece, we created a timeline of some of the important events that occurred during this part of history. It is amazing to think that so many artefacts have survived more than 2000 years.

Group B enjoyed music with Mr Mike on Thursday.
