This week marked the beginning of the 2nd semester. Reports for the 1st semester will be distributed at the end next week. We are also now only a week away from Oman Week. So we have much to look forward to.
Afternoon pick ups were a bit bumpy two weeks ago, taking as long a 25 minutes to send all the kids home. However, with some input from parents, we made a few changes this last week that have streamlined the process to about 10 minutes. Please try to park in roughly the same place each day if possible as this will allow your children to find you faster.
On February 7, we will start Oman Week, engaging students in learning that is focussed on discovering and enjoying aspects of our amazing host country, it’s people and it’s culture. Contrary to some initial grade-level plans, the recent Supreme Committee announcement means that we will have cut evening activities that had previously been approved for some grades. But do not worry, there will still be enough fun built in that students will still look back on this week with fond memories, as always.
As I call friends and family around the world and teachers elsewhere in Oman, I am regularly reminded of how fortunate we are to be in classes face-to-face while so many other schools are still online. Please be sure to remind your children daily of the importance of safe social practices with distancing and masks. And be quick to keep your children home if there is any sign of illness in your home. With your continued support, we plan to remain the safest school around.
