Grade 12 students should have settled on a topic of interest for the Internal Assessment exploration task. I would expect that by the middle of February, the bulk the mathematical study would be complete for review with me. There is very little time left to complete a working draft copy, have it reviewed and then present a final copy for assessment by mid-March. The past year has been challenging in that learning has been impacted with the Covid-19 virus and yet exam criteria and content remain unchanged. So unfortunately, students are under tremendous pressure to complete work and prepare for examinations. You can assist your children by checking that they remain on task and have a reasonable strategy to complete required tasks on time. Math is a subject that also requires daily practice in order to succeed. The IA is also a compulsory component of the requirements for sitting the exam. Failure to meet the required deadlines for review of drafts and submission would have grave consequences.
