Dear Families,

What a wonderful week we have had at ABIS!  Yesterday, Nov. 18, was Omani National Day.  Our campus was festively decorated and many of our students participated by dressing up in red, white and green or in beautiful traditional dress. Some students wore decorative masks! As a new person in Oman, the day gave me a good feeling about being here. I could sense the pride and love that people have for their lovely country.

This week, teachers across the school met with students and parents online during our 3 Way Conferences. I’m hearing good reports about how the meetings went, and I know as parents, you appreciated the opportunity to discuss the progress reports while looking at learning goals for your child moving forward. If you are unsure about how to support your child in his/her learning from home, please let us know.  Our teachers have many strategies that you can use at home.  Working together as a team, we will achieve more!

As you are aware, blended learning continues throughout the Primary section. Depending on numbers of online and face to face learners, things look slightly different in each grade level.  Some classes are completely face to face, some are completely online, and some are both at the same time.  Teachers continue to adapt and improve their instruction, depending on the needs of their students. Families who wish to change their choice of instruction from online to face to face have the option of doing so weekly.  If you choose to do so, please contact Ms. Eiman in our administration, and your child’s teacher, prior to Thursday in order for your child to begin attending on Sunday.  You will need to fill our and return a form prior to the Sunday.

Our teachers work very hard to be prepared for different approaches to learning each and every day, and I am very proud to be part of this dedicated team.

In recognition of National Day, Oman has declared next Wednesday, Nov. 25th and Thursday, Nov. 26th as national holidays.  Please enjoy the long weekend next week with your families!
