Dear parents,

Another week of Distance Learning has gone by, and we are now taking stock of what we have accomplished and what lies ahead for the school community. Our planning of health and safety protocols is in progress should the Supreme Committee allow schools to open on November 1. The Ministry of Education sent out guidelines this week for reopening and we are happy to report that our planning is well aligned with the Ministry. Next week we have invited a Safety Officer and a Doctor to inspect the school, our protocols and to provide any further advice.

At the end of next week, I will be sending out a parent survey to gain valuable feedback on how Distance Learning is working for you and your child. Please do respond to this survey as it will give us good information as we move forward.

A reminder that as per our school calendar, Thursday October 8 is a student free day so that teachers can plan and engage with professional development. The Autumn break is from Friday 16 October – Saturday 24 October. School will resume on Sunday 25 October.

Over the last two weeks we have had videographers filming the school for two new videos, one on our Early Childhood Centre (ECC) and one on the school as a whole. The ECC and whole school videos will show just how wonderful our facilities are for those who may not have had the opportunity to visit. When the videos are finished, these will be shared via our website. We are still taking applications for ECC and hope to see more children from our school families join for this academic year.

I have been able to visit classes this week and was delighted to say hello to our students and see the wonderful work that students and teachers are doing. Please do continue to support your child in their learning and let us know should you need assistance or advice.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Dominic Robeau
