It has been an exciting and interesting week to base many activities around the Dot Day story. We found out about the author Peter H Reynolds and how International Dot started. We have made several artworks to show what a dot can turn into. We enjoyed being creative and having the opportunity to express ourselves in different ways and using a variety of materials. We also talked about the deeper meaning of the story and are thinking about who we can help and encourage someone, and are making a plan of what we can do. We also continued to collect data and display it in graphs and to find out about each other. Grade Ones are excellent communicators. They listen, share thoughts and ideas, and write fantastic stories.
