Dear parents,

The third week of Distance Learning is now finished and we are finding that students are becoming more comfortable with the platforms and the teaching and learning. This is a positive step for everyone, and we hope that the learning curve continues to grow.

Last night I had the pleasure of joining parent teacher meetings in the Secondary. Teachers had prepared well for these sessions and I hope that parents who attended found them informative. Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to join the Primary sessions and so I hope to be able to meet Primary and Secondary parents at a virtual coffee morning next week. By all accounts, the Primary parent teacher sessions also went very well, and the positive feedback from parents was welcomed by all.

The International Baccalaureate will be conducting the IB MYP authorisation visit on 29-30 September at ABIS. The teachers, Mr Jon Adams, Secondary Team Leader and Mr Greg Perry, IB MYP Coordinator, have been working hard in preparation for this virtual visit. While we may not know the outcome for some weeks after the authorisation visit, I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the development of the IB MYP at ABIS.

We have received no further news regarding the opening of the school on November 1 from the Ministry of Education but rest assured that we are well prepared with strict health and safety protocols in place should students be allowed to return.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Dominic Robeau
