Dear parents,

We are delighted that the students have returned to school even though it is, at this time, with Distance Learning.

This week has been a learning curve for students, however with time they will become wonderfully comfortable with their learning. There have been slight hiccups here and there as students and teachers settle into their classes but overall, its been a successful week.

I have been visiting classes these past few days in Primary and Secondary and it is wonderful to see the students interacting with their teachers. The teaching and learning are of a high quality and is evidence of the hard work teachers have put into their preparations.

The two platforms we are utilising, SeeSaw and Google Classroom are certainly becoming much easier for everyone to interact with and I am sure that as time progresses our students will become skilled users. Students are learning very quickly how to use Google Meet; I watched the lower grades in primary picking up the skills to turn off and on their microphones and camera, and engage with their teachers really well. I am immensely proud of these students who have taken to Distance Learning so readily.

The older students have quickly developed the good habits of Distance Learning and are showing strong skills in their interactions with their teachers and peers. I have also noticed that students are wearing the ABIS clothing which signals they are ready to learn!

I am deeply grateful to all in our ABIS community for their support in these challenging times and I congratulate parents and students for their commitment to our Distance Learning Programme. We look forward to seeing our students next week!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Dominic Robeau
