For our Unit of Inquiry, Sharing The Planet, we were set the tasks to help at home and to find some beauty.
A few students were being responsible and were helping at home with: folding clothes, cleaning up a mess, making compost, baking cookies, doughnuts, and making pancakes! Yummy! We also see a student making a funnel and container out of a water bottle. Durer is re-using the kinder chocolate bag to store some toys.
Meanwhile others were being creative in a retelling of the Big Book story, The Little Red Hen. Taiba used toys and illustrations to recount the story. We looked at the characters, setting and storyline. We also thought about the beginning, the middle and the end. Sultan and his sister were having amazing maths lessons using stones to show tallying and 5+1, 5+2, 5+3 etc. Watch this space, as I would like to share their lesson!
And others were finding something beautiful where they lived. It was difficult for me to stop collecting photos from Seesaw. Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and hard work. I am loving seeing the children’s agency as they are creative and choose how to learn. The collaborating and learning together with mother’s and siblings is wonderful to see.
