We have a great collection of distance learning apps that students and teachers are starting to appreciate on a whole new level.
In secondary, teachers are finding that SeeSaw and Webex are very powerful tools for keeping in touch with students. With both teachers and students can upload videos which are compressed before upload and seem to upload and download very quickly, even on home wifi networks. Webex is proving to be powerful for meeting in small groups (as with design in grade 7 today) or even larger groups (like our morning staff meeting). Webex allow teachers to record the meeting and send out a link to anyone who is having connection issues.
As parents, you can continue to support your students by making sure they have tried these tools. Working at home is very challenging and our students need to be aware that they are not alone. If they have questions, they can start with an email and request individual support.
