Wow! this has been a busy week with lots of moving parts!
We just had a wonderful Primary Assembly that has reminded us all of the wonderful work our teachers do with your fantastic children. Indeed, first up, I want to thank you our wonderful staff on behalf of our whole community for their commitment & professionalism over the few weeks. The combination of Oman week, reports, ski trip and coronavirus, would, in many organisations be an insurmountable challenge, however, here at ABIS, our team continues to deliver with the same level of exceptional professionalism.
The temperature testing measures that we implemented have gone ahead without issue. Thank you to the parents whose children we asked to return home with colds and coughs. We really appreciate your support with this.
In the background we have been working hard to plan for every eventuality. One of these is providing remote learning opportunities should the students be asked to stay at home. Fortunately, having been a tech savvy school for the last 10 years, we are well prepared in this area. We do not believe that Oman is at this stage yet but we must obviously be prepared for this eventuality. Please be reassured that we have been proactive in this regard and at the beginning of next week we will share further details. Added to this, we have also been working on provisions for students who have exams coming up to ensure as much continuity as possible for them through this critical period.
Unfortunately, we have had to decide to postpone our annual Cabaret. With quite a few events coming up there is obviously a very high chance of further cancelations. We will be making decisions around other upcoming events at the beginning of next week.
Despite all of this, I’d like to wish you all a restful weekend. By the way, if you think your kids are growing up fast, then take a look at our chicks who have almost doubled in size over that 5 days!
