Some in the ABIS community have been affected by the tidal surges caused by the super cyclone Kyarr. Many coastal home have flooded, filling with sea and sand, while others have received serious structural damage. If you have time this weekend, consider taking your children during low tide to see the real time effects of climate change, and possibly be prepared to lend a hand. There is a local group gathering in Subara from 6AM to 9AM on Saturday (mosque at 24°21’06.8″N, 56°45’28.8″E) to support the families and homes affected.

If you can not go during low tide, be very cautious as the high tides can be very powerful and bring with them large objects like fridges and tires which can pin you. Use wisdom and be safe.
