In Grade 3 we have enjoyed learning to measure capacity in millilitres and litres. We have been learning how many millilitres are in a cup and how many cups there are in one litre.
Working with a buddy is helping us to develop our ability to understand and solve word problems. We find we often need to read the question a couple of times. Underlining the important words helps us to work out how to solve it too. Drawing a diagram often helps us solve the problem.
Today we applied our knowledge to work out how many litres we would need to make enough Tang for 25 people. We mixed the Tang one litre at a time, then poured 250mls each. It was a lovely treat just before home time to drink the Tang.
