This week, students in grade 8 have begun looking at the Russian Revolution. This is a pivotal subject for them as they begin transitioning into grade 9 and covering IGCSE History material. So far we have looked at the major players in the revolution as well as the guiding ideology of communism.
In Grade 11, students continue to look at Fidel Castro and his domestic policies for Cuba from 1959-2008. Major events including the Bay of Pigs Invasion, Cuban Missile Crisis, and Special Period (1990s) are being studied.
Grade 9 students are nearing then end of their look at containment as a US policy during the Cold War. The cases studies considered were the Korean War, Cuba, and the Vietnam War. A quiz on these case is coming in the next week or two.
