This week we began our unit of Inquiry into Ecosystems. We looked closely at the central idea and found out the meaning of a couple of new words.

At first we were unsure what ecosystems were but during the week as we learned more about ecosystems we began to realise we already know some things about ecosystems and different types of habitats. Many of us are hoping to learn more about animals in this Inquiry.

On the school farm we took photos of things that are either living or non-living to begin the Inquiry. We wondered whether the slime we found on the rocks was living or non-living.

We have worked hard this week to grasp how to solve addition problems by making ‘tidy numbers’. We found that learning to set our work out clearly helped us find the correct answer too.
