We enjoyed visiting the farm to observe the new animals this week. We were surprised to see how quickly the terrapins could swim. The quail were well camouflaged with the dry grass in their enclosure. They looked very settled in their new home. As we watched them, lots of questions came to our minds that we wanted to find out. One thing we found out was that terrapins like to live in swampy water.
In Maths this week we have been learning to play ‘Mystery Number’ to practise our number knowledge. In the game we have a limited number of questions to work out the mystery number so we must learn to use the questions wisely. Knowing whether numbers are odd or even helps. Sometimes a little bit of luck can help too!
We have been learning a little about extreme weather events and found some amazing facts in non fiction books on weather. We have thought of so many questions we would like to find out about the weather too.
