For the 4th year in a row, the G9 Global Perspectives students were treated to an excellent guest speaker on the topic of “Sustainability”. Our guest, Mr. Sean Spratley of Environmental Manager – Strategic and Precious Metal Processing LLC here in Sohar has a company goal of Zero Environmental Impact. He shared his wide ranging background which showed his passion for “leaving the environment the same or better” than it was when he started with it.
Mr. Spratley has been working together with ABIS to set up our new Plasbin Recycling system. Plasbin is a great way for the ABIS Community to engage in global action related to sustainability, and it aligns nicely with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goal #11 – “Sustainable Cities & Communities”. More information will be coming soon about how we can all take part in recycling paper, plastic, glass, and metal. Clearly Mr. Spratley will be a great resource as we develop a 21st Century school that is dedicated to Eco-friendly best practices.
