The mission for this year’s Secondary Advisory is make our students take more charge of their learning and their community. We have launched two programs to achieve this goal. Leadership projects started last week. Students are meeting in mixed grade level and house groups to work towards making our morning announcements more interesting, organizing games for house and grade level bonding, preparing for assemblies, organizing community bonding events and sports day. Students are taking the lead with teachers acting a guides.
Also, as seen above, we are taking care of our surroundings by keeping our learning areas clean.
Today, we are excited to start passion projects. Students have been given time, space and resources to pursue a passion that they might not necessarily get time for during the normal schedule. We are looking forward to seeing students cook, dance, create art, build bird houses, build engines, play sports and music. Watch out for this space next week for some pictures.
