Grade 7 have been exploring texture this semester. Their studies have explored the textures which surround them and they have developed skill in how to recreate this in their own artwork. Their final outcome is a mask inspired by cultural mask and a contemporary Artist Kimmy Cantrell who’s own work is inspired by Picasso’s take on the cultural masks of Africa. The work they are creating is in process- here is a sneak preview of their work. You will be able to see the finished artwork in their displays in the end of year art show.
