On the 16th of January, Al Batinah International School (ABIS) had an opportunity to welcome eighteen staff of the Ministry of Education to learn more about the school and its IB programmes: PYP, DP and the upcoming MYP.

Ms Michelle Simpson and Ms Ann Gaillard gave an overview of the IB, its mission, philosophy and instructional approach. They have also addressed the topic of  managing assessments, including recording and reporting. The MoE visited the classrooms and observed how the concept-based, inquiry-driven instruction is being applied from K-12. The visitors also had a chance to see the newly-opened state-of-the-art learning centres, theatre/gym and aquatic centre. The day ended with a shared lunch and plans to host the MoE for other workshops on the IB.
