One week remaining and still lots of activity about the school. Grade 10 have returned from their trip and are now doing IB Preparation. Grade 7, 8, 9 and 11 are reflecting on their exam performance, as well as working on some transdisciplinary projects (e.g Grade 7 Visual arts and Grade 9 Performing Arts) and generally organising themselves for next year. Learning is still meaningful in the secondary school and we hope to keep it going up until the last day.
This year the school will be issuing a yearbook free of charge next week to every student. This is a thank you gesture for placing your trust in us. The year books are important as they capture very special moments for children and turn them into lifelong memories.
Staff played students at basketball on Wednesday and it was great fun. They (not staff!) have improved so much in recent years and it really showed, especially at the beginning when they were thrashing us by nearly 15 points! Eventually the teachers, through experience and a bit of ‘jostling’, managed to pull back and scrape a lucky draw. It’s safe to say the students deserved to take the game. A couple of students were out injured, so we are fairly certain we would have lost if they weren’t. We also borrowed Joe, a very good player who coaches a local Indian team. Next week we hope to take students on at football, cricket and frisbee!
Upcoming Events:
Community Iftar will now be held on Tuesday evening starting at 6.30pm in the gymnasium. We should have power!
Reports are issued early next week. Yearbooks to be issued on Wednesday or Thursday.
We will have our final assembly on Thursday in LC1 at 11.00 sharp. Please come along if you are free. At 12:30 there is a whole school assembly to say goodbye to our student and staff leavers. The assembly will take place in the gymnasium.
