It has taken nearly three years of hard work and preparation, but we are delighted to say that we have just been notified that ABIS is now a CIS (Council of International Schools) Accredited School, and only the second one in Oman after TAISM in Muscat!
This is a huge achievement for ABIS and for our school’s community. So many people have contributed to this lengthy process ranging from teachers, admin staff, students, parents, and Board members, that it is impossible to thank them all in person. This has been a community effort.
The significance of this is that ABIS has been awarded the ‘highest recognition available in international education’. It does not mean that we are perfect, as no school is, but it does mean that we have demonstrated excellence in many areas and have a clear plan on what we want to do to get better. Many prestigious universities around the world respect CIS, and being an accredited school will improve the future admission chances of our students.
We will be celebrating with our staff, students, Board and community at a later date. Further information will be shared about our improvement plans in future communications, but for now we are are very happy to have reached this milestone in our journey!
