After a long winter break we settled into the new year. This week in Math we focused on growing patterns looking at different patterns using cubes and charts. We had to place close attention to how each pattern grew looking carefully at both the number and where it grew. In reading and writing, we read The Day The Crayons Quit focusing on new reading strategies (check for understanding, cross checking and go back and reread). We also wrote perssusaive letters to the our favorite crayon asking them not to quit. In UOI, we are writing our own non fiction book on the life cycles of the frog. It was a productive and fun week.
