We kicked of our new unit by telling all we know about rocks and all we want to find out. Then we spent some time being scientists and looked at how we can sort rocks into different groups. Some of us even decided to go out and look for rocks on our own. In Math we started on word problems. The challenge has been figuring out what the problem is asking us to do. In writing, we finished our second informational books with the the goal of not just making 5 facts about an activity, but making those facts clear to the reader. We are all looking forward to next weeks field trip.
