We have had three significant meetings at the school this week, all very positive. Qatar Foundation came to visit on Tuesday to see our new building, as they are considering similar projects back home. They were enormously impressed by what our students were doing and how they used the space and came left determined and inspired to develop a similar model. Sohar Aluminium actually had their own Board meeting at the school yesterday upstairs in LC1. It was a great opportunity for some of our major investors from as far afield as Abu Dhabi to see the learning space. They were extremely happy with what they saw. Furthermore, the school’s governors (Steering Committee) met today and gave us strong support for all the work we have been doing with CIS. We hope to complete our report by this Sunday and will be sharing news of our exciting improvement plans in the months to come.
Congratulations to the 9 students who participated in another meeting – a swim meet – in Brighton College, Al Ain yesterday. They performed extremely well, winning many events. We thank Brighton College for inviting us and hope that they can make the return trip to ABIS so that more of our students can participate without facing the issue of crossing the border into the UAE. Thank you to ‘Coach Carberry’ for making this happen!
