This has been a short but action-packed week in Grade 2. After receiving the friendship bracelets from our Bumblebee and Butterfly buddies two weeks ago, we wanted to make something special to give them in return. We eventually decided on crowns. Making them proved to be trickier than some expected as they realized the need to apply some measurement skills and knowledge of repeating patterns. The students showed great creativity in making these. When the time came to give their carefully crafted crowns to their buddy, each student stood and presented it. This helped us to learn eachother’s names.
We were sorry to have to say ‘Goodbye’ to Luca and his family this week. We farewelled him with some little treats at morning tea time. Hopefully we will meet again one day.
