Students in 8th grade English started off the year right away with some descriptive writing work. This work gives them a chance to show off their writing skills and also think about how to create effective descriptions full of imagery and detail. They shared their work in pairs and we discussed what makes useful feedback. This is only the beginning and we will doing quite a bit of work with developing our writing and our reading skills this year.
