There were four judges and eight areas that were judged for each dance. These included choreographic principles such as levels, canon, unison, directions and so on. Costuming was also included. Each judge could score up to 5 for each area which meant that one judge could award up to 40 points. A third party took the scores and collated them for the grand total and the group with the highest total won.
