Exams and exam preparation have dominated Secondary school preparations and focus this week. One of our students, Philippe, has already finished his Diploma exams, but rather than rest or play has decided to have a go at the DELF A2 French exam in Muscat in two weeks time. That’s the spirit!

Teachers have been very busy today (Thursday) with their all day maths workshop with leading maths practitioner Kelvin Sparks, which has been fantastic. The main focus of the workshop has been how to make maths as engaging and meaningful as possible for students, and how to encourage them to explore and experiment with maths so that they deepen their understanding of concepts. This has given a real boost to maths at ABIS. Lovely to see many of our Omani teaching assistance giving up their free time to come in and join the workshop, as well as many of the Secondary teachers who don’t actually teach maths, but were still interested to learn.

Please be aware that the Secondary school is actively helping and encouraging students to use “Google Drive” and Google aps to save and file their work. We would be grateful if you ask your child to show you how they are organizing, naming and saving their work. This will really benefit them when they go to university or start work.
