This past weekend five ABIS teachers “practiced what they preach” by completing the Muscat Half-Marathon, a 21.1 kilometer run in the beautiful neighborhood surrounding the Opera House. This event for the five ABIS teachers looks much like a CAS / MCAS experience, and believe us, it was not an easy experience! Just as with CAS / MCAS, there was goal setting and reflection throughout, and evidence which can be seen in the photos. Months of training went into this “Activity”, and while it was a struggle, smiles of relief coming from our collective achievements were shining at the finish line! (see photos). It really felt like we were a team and we were proud to be supporting each other, and challenging ourselves, just as we ask of our students.
BTW, for those who would like to give it a try (students, teachers, admin. and parents, we will surely be putting another team together for the 2017 Muscat Half Marathon.. (Options are available for a 10Km race, Half and Full Marathon if you’re feeling extra strong!).
