We started tuning in to our fourth unit of inquiry, ecosystems. Our central idea for this unit is, “Ecosystems rely on biodiversity to maintain balance.” We will inquire into ecosystems, biodiversity, and maintaining balance. The key concepts we will explore are Responsibility & Connection. Our related concepts are Ecology, Interdependence, and Balance. Our skill focus for this unit is on Research & Communication Skills. Our Learner Profiles are Knowledgeable and Balanced, and our Attitude focus is on the attitudes of Empathy and Commitment. Students chose 3 learning goals from the skills, learner profiles and attitudes, ask your child what their goals are and what action they plan to take to achieve their goals.
This week students were also assessed on their ability to apply their measurement skills in Maths. We will be starting multiplication and fractions soon and also looking at 3D and 2D shapes.
We also celebrated Ms. Maryam’s birthday by playing birthday games. Happy 26th birthday Ms. Maryam!
