We are delighted that all of our students returned from France (see the picture) jubilant, happy and well – with iPads full of hundreds of pictures! It was obviously a very stressful week to manage, but our teacher chaperones and Madamme Cerdan did a wonderful job in supporting students and ensuring that they still had a good time. Thank you to all the parents who have already completed the Google feedback survey. If you haven’t had the chance yet, we would appreciate it. Our thoughts are with the French families who lost loved ones in the terrorist attack.

Well done to all our students, who went down to swim at TAISM to compete against excellent opposition on Tuesday. Though we didn’t get any firsts this time round, students fully committed themselves and gave their best against more experienced students, many of which train not just once, but twice a day!

We are exploring the possibility of running some ASAs after school on Tuesday, which would be supervised by parents, as teachers have meetings at this time. We are currently looking for indoor cricket between 3:30 – 4:30. The supervisor doesn’t need to be a cricketer, as the students don’t require coaching, but just want to play and have fun. Please let us know if you’re interested and can help out.

The House picnic was a great success on Wednesday lunchtime. Thank you to the Student Council and Miss Brewer and Camp for supporting this lovely initiative. We hope to have more of these events.

We hope to see all parents at the meeting on Monday about the school expansion. We also hope that all Grade 2 to 9 parents can attend the follow on Oman Week meetings.

Arsenal soccer camp is setting up in Sohar. They will be here next week offering free after school sessions for our students to attend. Please see Mr Carberry, who has been putting word about for details. It is exciting that Sohar is developing more activities for teenagers, as it grows and develops.

The University Admission/Information evening aimed at the parents of students of Grade 9 to 12 students has now been moved to December 14th at 6pm. We will discuss the different admission processes around the world, timelines, where to find resources, and how ABIS is currently supporting students. Our Grade 12s are currently preparing for mock ‘University Admission’ interviews, which will take place over the next few weeks.
