Secondary students have certainly had a busy week and taken advantage of outdoor play, as well as a new lunchtime arrangement for the older students. With a cooling in the weather we can now do much more outside and free up some gym space so that students can participate in intramurals (house matches), which start next week. Basketball will be the first sport in which they compete against each other. Game on!

We are now nearing the French trip and anticipation is building. To help increase the motivation, we have a special awards ceremony on November 10 in Muscat for 16 students, who passed the DELF (A special French language test) on their first go last June. We hope that they enjoy meeting the French Ambassador and celebrating their success. Meanwhile, Madamme Cerdan has been coordinating lunchtime sessions for students to improve their communication and interactive skills, so that they are prepared for France. I have heard that 30 students have already signed up for this year’s DELF tests, which is really pleasing and shows the level of commitment to learning another language.

Today officially marked the end of the first quarter of the school year. The first quarter (Mid semester one) progress reports will be issued on the 5th November, and will be used as a basis for the parents evening (Three Way Conference) on Wednesday 11th November.  You will receive a letter next week, so that you can arrange appointment times.

We witnessed a fabulous dance performance by Grade 7 and 8 at the Primary assembly today. Please see the attached photos.

Lastly, a get well soon to Rafael, who broke his arm his week. We know how frustrating this is and wish you a very speedy recovery!
