Grade 11 has been welcomed to the wonderful world of IB History writing, where multiple essays in a compressed timeframe is the norm. This week I provided students with the skeleton of an essay–the main arguments–and tasked them with fleshing out the essay with details and explanation.
This sort of building blocks approach will develop their skills and confidence, allowing them to get to the point where writing three essays in 2.5 hours is no longer an intimidating task.
