Due to rehearsals, I was unable to post last Thursday but here we go!
The last few weeks have been a huge countdown to the End Of Year Show. On June 10, at 6.30 pm we showcase what we have been working on for the last two months. The students have been putting the last of the pieces together and combining song and dance to show you what they can do.
The next few days we will be working on some final rehearsals to prepare the children for the big night!
Children are asked to be in the MPA for 6.15 pm ready for the 6.30 start. Last post I mentioned that children are expected to wear a PLAIN BRIGHT SHIRT – ANY COLOUR! No pictures, patterns, decorations or words. They are also asked to wear dark bottoms – trousers, leggings, jeggings, pants. Dark can mean black, dark brown, dark blue, charcoal.

Our IGCSE students have continued with their extra requirements. This weekend they attended a dance workshop at the British School of Muscat with some of the dance students there. The children did some classical ballet, some contemporary, some stretching and some lifts before being asked to work in groups to choreograph some short routines. The groups collaborated really well with some nice creations being shared. Our ABIS children came away with new ideas and plans for their own choreography. They also have some lovely acquaintances which they will have the opportunity to meet again in the coming semester. A very big thank you to Miss Bamforth who put together the workshop!

Last Thursday, our secondary students shared their hip hop items with the primary school. An almost entirely independent project, the students were required to share between 1-2 minutes of their knowledge of the choreographic principles in dance form to approved pieces of music. The students shared some very nicely put together routines to a highly appreciative audience.
Everyone is now pulling out the stops for the final performance. Make sure you get in early to have the best seats!
