Learning about fractions.
In Math we have started a unit on fractions. We are playing a memory game to match equivalent fractions or words to number fractions.
Our next unit of inquiry is titled Dollars and Sense. Before starting this unit we did a Dictogloss and some group work to find out what we already think about money. It looks like it will be an exciting unit with the childen having jobs in the class which they will get “paid” for in ABIS dollars. This money can be spent on free swims, free time, Buddy Class or whatever the children come up with as a just reward for saving their money. Unfortunately they will have to pay rent for their desk, chair, pencils and will be subject to tax!!
