Grade 10’s have started their exams and Grade 12 begin on Monday. We are running exams in a new location this year, which is well spaced out and better equipped than last year. We hope that these improved conditions will enable our students to relax more, experience less background noise, and ultimately perform better. Students in other year levels will take their end of year assessments in the same space, so they too get an authentic exam experience, which should help them prepare in the years to come.
On Wednesday, secondary students visited the Grade 6 exhibition and were very impressed. As Grade 6 join the Secondary school next year, it is particularly important to connect with and support them. The Secondary students I spoke with were proud of their younger peers, and also pointed out how much of their exhibition content was relevant to their own learning in the secondary school.
The CIS report has arrived and we will share information in the near future. We are very happy with the report, which suggests that the school is making good progress towards its goals, whilst also providing us with a clear set of recommendations to get better. Our final CIS accreditation visit won’t be until November 2016, which gives us enough time to improve and get closer to achieving our mission and vision. Much more to come on this.
Enjoy the weekend!
