We are happy to share that the Council of International Schools (CIS) were really positive about the school after their four day visit last week. They praised the high level of skill and commitment (hard work) of our staff, the strength of our PYP programme, our progressive (advanced) use of facilities, our effective use of technology for learning, and our innovative (original) methods with dealing with small student numbers in the Secondary school. Yet, the comment we liked the most was how “articulate and confident” our students are. They said that our students are polite, well spoken and comfortable when talking to adults.

We will receive a report in a month’s time that will make a number of recommendations (suggested areas for improvement), which will form part of our future development plan. This plan will take us a long way towards becoming a CIS accredited (certified) school, hopefully by late November 2016. We will share more details with you at a later date so that we can be as transparent (clear) as possible.

A heartfelt thank you to all the students, parents, staff, steering committee members, and administration who met with CIS and supported the process. We are confident that this process will drive the school much closer to reaching its vision of becoming a “leading school in the region”. It will be a community effort to become a CIS accredited school – only the Second one in Oman – but we took a significant step forward together last week.
