Students have settled in well into the expanded SLS space and there has been lots of industry and hard work in the Secondary school this week. As you know, the reports went home on Monday and students will spend some time next week reflecting on their progress and reviewing their targets. As always, the reports tell a story of progress, but also single out issues that need attention and focus. We will help students address these issues over Semester two.

We ended the week with a lovely event this morning by celebrating International Mother (Tongue) Language Day. Apart from wearing their national costumes/colours, the students took turns to teach and present their languages to other group members, who took lots of notes and practised. Languages are such an invaluable and essential gateway into understanding and connecting with different cultures, so it was a real pleasure to see students doing just that this morning. Special thanks to the Student Council for planning this active and fun event, and a special thank you to Christine Nolido for all the wonderful design work (see the featured images).

As we wrote in a recent Newsflash, two visitors from CIS (The Council of International Schools) are in next week to support us in our accreditation application. Both visitors are former school administrators, and very experienced educators, so we hope to get lots of useful guidance from them. Please say hello if you happen to bump into them.
