On Monday, November 3rd, from 8:40 am to 10:20 am, the 12th graders will be sitting for their first IB Examination in English. An internal examination, the IOC stands for “Individual Oral Commentary.” Students are given an extract from one of the two or three texts they’ve read: 1984, Macbeth and The Road (HL only). Upon receiving the extract, they have 20 minutes to plan a response, then 10 minutes to deliver their commentary, followed by 5 minutes of questions. The exams will begin at 8:20 in the Nurse’s room, so if you’re by the front of the school please be aware. In the meantime, if you see our 12th graders, wish them luck!
