This week in Diploma History, students presented elements of the syllabus. We have been studying Hitler’s Nazis state and students were tasked with researching, presenting, and writing about one facet of Nazi control.
Corinne presented about the Hitler Youth and League of German Maidens–organizations that sought to indoctrinate young Germans. Williams and Qatadah presented on the use of force–the SS and the Gestapo. Philippe and AbdulAziz taught the class about Nazi propaganda.
This kind of learning–student driven and independent–is a big part of Diploma History and the students can expect more of it in the future. It puts them in charge of their learning and makes them responsible for the content.
