It’s not often children participate in a field trip that is mostly math related. And it’s also not very often they see a direct connection between the math they do in class and it’s application in the world outside. Thanks to Mikkel’s dad who coordinated the trip in a record short time, all these came together when we visited maritime college and saw for ourselves how coordinates are used in navigation and charts.
