It has been a great week for the Secondary school. The Art day yesterday was absolutely fantastic and the whole school contributed to the displays, which can only be described as breathtaking. We hope that you got the SMS invitation yesterday and managed to make it in this morning to see them before we took them down. Thank you very much to Mr Hampton, who used his ‘persuasive’ skills to get students working, and well done to Grade 11 who led the event as part of their CAS Programme.

We are a young school, still small in number, and though we are ambitious, we certainly didn’t expect to win any sporting trophies for a few years. To win both a boys’ and a girls’ basketball trophy in the same week is absolutely delightful. In doing so we defeated much larger and better equipped schools, which is a testament to the positive attitude and developing skill of our players, as well as to the teaching skills of Mr Carberry, albeit ‘Coach Carberry’! We are extremely proud of the students and we will display their hard-earned trophies in a safe place. We hope to build a large cabinet for these and for those – hopefully – following in the years to come. Meanwhile, we will savour our first two tournament victories!

Sadly, we had to say goodbye this week to the Pauw family, who are moving to Muscat. Valerie and Casper are two wonderful students who have grown and matured a great deal in the years that they have been with us. We will really miss them and wish them all the best for the future. Our thanks are also extended to Henk Pauw for the support he gave ABIS during his time as Chair of our Board.

We wish you a great weekend!
