Grade 7 are currently reading ‘The Hunger Games’, a popular dystopian novel by Suzanne Collins. As they are also doing a ‘Writer’s Workshop’, we decided to take a close look at how Collins writes in terms of sentence types and structure, whilst not ignoring her choice of language. Our young English scholars found this approach interesting, as it connects their learning in class to a living author.
