The Green Leopards emerged the victors in the inter-house football this week. There were some great matches leading up to the final, which turned out to be a classic. The Desert Foxes put up a great fight in the decider and used the cunning strategy of defending deep and counter-attacking effectively, whilst the Leopards used their hunting skills with deadly effect up front, scoring four goals. Well done to all the students for such a ‘gutsy’ performance, and, of course, to Mr Carberry for running and refereeing the event. He’s a busy man.
It was a pleasure to witness Miss Camp’s ‘Read Aloud’ this week. Read Aloud is an integral part of our morning Advisory programme, in which different teachers select different texts (print or moving) and share them with students, in whatever way they choose. Miss Camp performed an interactive musical story, in which students participated in the reading of a story by playing instruments at selected times. This was entertaining to watch.
Grade 8, 9 and 11 are now being prepared for the end-of-year exams, which provide an opportunity to give them a taste of the real thing, as well as build up their confidence and exam skills. Grade 10 are actually doing the ‘real thing’ and are over midway though their IGCSE exams. In just over a week they will be heading off to India on a CAS trip, so they will have certainly earned their reward after several weeks of tough exams!
