All Grade 11 IB Diploma students are currently studying ‘Mass Communication’, guided by the question: ‘how does the media use propaganda to sway public opinion? It has been an enjoyable series of lessons for me, so far, to hear their opinions and observe them becoming more critical of the media. As part of this conversation, we have examined a range of speeches made by politicians and watched a documentary called ‘Outfoxed’, which examines how Fox News Channel shapes the opinions of its viewers.
