Grade 7 students are currently delivering their presentations on ‘bonded child labour’, which is a big problem in certain parts of the world. Bonded child labour occurs when a family agrees to their child working for a creditor to repay a debt. What usually happens is that the child is made to work for long hours with no salary rather like a slave, which is why some refer to it as ‘modern day slavery’. Find out more at:

The attached image is not an example of bonded child labour but Roche delivering a very good presentation to her class on Wednesday. The presentations are a response to the fictional novel ‘Iqbal’, by Francesco D’Adamo, which highlights these human rights issues.
