We have finished one of the units in Music called Peter and the Wolf. Students learnt that music can be composed to support a story or a picture and it is called a programme music. They learnt some of the instruments of a symphonic orchestra – shape, sound, what family they belong to. They enjoyed a variety of activities offered in this unit – listening and recognising tunes from the Peter and the Wolf, colouring pages, drawing pictures to the music, matching instruments with the characters from the story, and finally, making their own book. Please, find some time to go through it and ask questions. Your child has so much to tell you about this musical story.
